Power cast member and R&B sensation Rotimi has become the latest addition to the cast of Paramount Pictures’ pending sequel Coming 2 America, according to Deadline. Rotimi will be joining a hefty cast filled with newcomers and veterans. Amongst the film’s ensemble cast include the original line-up of Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, Paul Bates, John Amos, Shari Headley, Louie Anderson and Vanessa Bell Calloway- all set to reprise their respective roles.
The film’s newest add-ons include Teyana Taylor, Michael Blackson, Jermaine Fowler, Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, KiKi Layne, Rick Ross, Luenell, and Tracy Morgan, all of whom currently have undisclosed roles. Craig Brewer will serve as the film’s director. The film is currently in production and will be handled by Kevin Misher, Murphy, and Kenya Barris. Coming 2 America is expected to arrive in theaters on December 18th, 2020.
Like the new actors being added to this sequel, Rotimi’s role in the film is currently undisclosed. The singer and actor is widely-known for his role as Dre in the successful Starz drama, Power, which is slated to premiere its sixth and final season at the end of August. Rotimi’s film credits include Divergent, Black Nativity, Deuces, and Imperial Dreams. The actor is represented by PANTHEON.
