A new poster has arrived for J. C. Chandor’s A Most Violent. The movie, set to premiere at the AFI Festival next week, presents a young couple living in early 1980s New York City, trying to achieve the American dream in spite of the crime-ridden world around them. Covered in previous articles here and here, the movie seems to be a continuance on Chandor’s penchant for gritty realism after his previous work on Margin Call, about the beginning of the financial crisis and the people who stood at its doorstep, and All is Lost, about a sailor attempting to survive at sea. Starring Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), and Albert Brooks (This is 40), the film could be a real contender for the upcoming awards season and is set to be released widely in early 2015.
