Poster and Synopsis Revealed for Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’

After making a huge directorial debut with the Oscar winning film Get Out, comedian-turned-director Jordan Peele takes another crack at the horror genre with Us. Until recently, very little was known about the film other than the fact that Peele was creating another horror film. Now we have both a plot synopsis and a poster reveal ahead of the release of the first trailer.

The film is about a family that goes on a short vacation to a beach house to unwind and have a good time. Things take a turn for the worse as their seemingly relaxing night turns into one of chaos and mayhem. Despite the vague plot synopsis, the film is seems to have a premise similar to many other movies in the horror genre. However, knowing how Peele created such a refreshing, original film with Get Out, it is fair to assume that Peele has much more planned with his next directorial work. Peele has mentioned that with his next film, he’s not trying to top himself with Get Out, but instead doing something different and “trying to entertain himself again”.

Also revealed was a teaser poster for the film, though there’s not much to it outside of a mysterious figure with a red sweater and brown gloves holding a pair of golden scissors. Even with the simplicity of the poster, it’s clear that there is something unsettling to occur in this upcoming feature film. Not only that, but the film is set to have its first trailer released on Christmas Day, a good gift for fans of Peele’s work. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Elizabeth Moss, and it’s scheduled to be released on March 15, 2019. Check out the poster below.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
