The voice of Robin in the upcoming Dynamic Duo has officially been cast. Mason Thames, known for his live-action roles in the Black Phone movies and as Hiccup in the live-action How to Train Your Dragon, is officially voicing Dick Grayson/Robin in the film, as confirmed by DC Studios Co-Chairman Peter Safran in an interview with Collider.
Safran spoke about the casting process for Mason Thames, saying the following:
“We always talk about wanting volunteers and not recruits to be part of the DCU, to be part of DC Studios, and Mason always wanted to be Dick Grayson. He just did. And he came in, and auditioned the s*** out of it, and was awesome. He’s a wonderful young actor, but boy, did he want this. He was just obsessed. When he came over to the DC offices, he came over with his dad at the time, and we’ve got tons of great archives and stuff in there, and wanted to take a picture of everything and with everything. He’s a fan.”
Dynamic Duo is set to be a buddy superhero movie featuring both Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. Swaybox Studios is animating the film, a studio centered on an innovative hybrid animation style that combines computer-generated animation, stop-motion animation, and real-time puppetry. The studio’s two founders, Arthur Mintz and Theresa Anderson, are co-directing and producing the film.
Dynamic Duo is set to be released in theaters on September 22, 2028.
