The topic of Paul Dano has been a hot one this week, but not for any direct action on his part. After acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino shared his stance on the actor, many different talents have come to the defense of Dano, including Alec Baldwin.
On a podcast hosted by American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis, Tarantino made an appearance recently discussing some of the best films to hit the scene since the turn of the millennium. One film listed was There Will Be Blood, which featured Dano in a supporting role. Although he praised the film overall, Tarantino said Dano in particular was “such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy.”
Several people who have worked closely with Dano have spoken out about him, voicing their own adoration for him as an actor. Even those who haven’t worked alongside him came to his aid, with the aforementioned Alec Baldwin being one of them.
Baldwin posted to his Instagram, cutting straight to the point. Collider noted that he simply said, “I love Paul Dano.”
Collider also noted that Baldwin and Tarantino aren’t exactly on good terms with one another, despite no exchange between the two. Tarantino has made his opinion on the matter of the Rust incident on set, claiming that Baldwin was responsible to an extent for the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
