Paul, Brosnan, Collette, and Poots Decide Not to Jump in ‘A Long Way Down’ Trailer

Nick Hornby has penned some of the most successful comedies and dramas of the past fifteen years.  His adapted novels include Fever Pitch, About a Boy, and High Fidelity, and his screenplay adaptation of An Education earned him an Oscar nomination.  French director Pascal Chaumeil’s A Long Way Down adapts Hornby’s latest novel into a heartwarming and comedic drama.

The film follows four unlikely friends, brought together when they all decide to throw themselves off the same rooftop on New Year’s Eve.  Together they make a pact not kill themselves until Valentine’s Day, and thus begins their misadventures as they all set out to discover what they have to live for.  The film marks Chaumeil’s English language debut and stars Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Imogen Poots, and Aaron Paul, who replaced Emile Hirsch when he dropped out in 2012.

The trailer highlights the blend of humor and tragedy that define all of Hornby’s novels. A Long Way Down has yet to pick up a U.S. distributor, but premieres in the U.K. on March 21.
