Patrick Schwarzenegger (The White Lotus, Love of Your Life) and Leslie Grace (In the Heights) are attached to star in The Journeyman, an indie crime-thriller to be directed by filmmaker Ángel Manuel Soto (Blue Beetle, The Wrecking Crew).
AGC Studios is fully financing and producing the project, which begins principal photography on November 30, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with The Pimienta Film Company handling local production services.
The narrative stars Schwarzenegger as a struggling, down-on-his-luck professional tennis player who becomes entangled in a high-stakes match-fixing syndicate in a desperate bid to keep his family financially afloat. Grace co-stars as his steadfastly loyal fiancée. The screenplay is penned by writing duo The Roberts, with script revisions by Emmy nominee Bill Dubuque (Ozark, The Accountant). The project previously circulated in development with Dev Patel attached to star and Tarsem Singh directing.
Stuart Ford is producing for AGC alongside Bryan Haas (The Order), Mason Eways, and Oscar nominee Scott Franklin (Black Swan). AGC’s Miguel A. Palos Jr., Zach Garrett, and Anant Tamirisa serve as executive producers.
AGC International is handling foreign sales and will shop the packaging to international buyers at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM) in November, with domestic distribution rights co-repped by UTA, WME, and AGC.
The casting adds to an active production slate for Schwarzenegger, who is currently shooting Mike Birbiglia’s comedy Old Friends New Friends for Focus Features. For Puerto Rican native Soto, The Journeyman follows his Amazon MGM action-comedy The Wrecking Crew, starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista.
