Today a new trailer for the expected film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was released. The last time we had a glimpse at the feature was last July, and now a larger trailer featuring new footage is available. The premiere of the film is set for March 31.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is based on the famous RPG game of the same name, designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. This is the second time the game has been adapted to the screen. Its previous adaptation was a 27-episode animated show that got canceled before filming its finale. Dungeons & Dragons have inspired several epic stories before; also, the game has been shown in popular shows and films such as Stranger Things, Freaks and Geeks, and The Big Bang Theory.
Honor Among Thieves centers around Edgin, played by Chris Pine. He joins an unlikely group intending to recover a lost relic, while in this adventure, they will need to adapt and learn to work together. In the trailer, we can look at the group of protagonists and the villain they will have to confront. The cast comprises Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Hugh Grant, Justice Smith, and Sophia Lillis.
Produced under Paramount, the film is directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the duo also wrote the script along with Michael Giglio. The directors stated that they were looking for a unique aesthetic for this new franchise and have been careful about details, for example, when featuring creatures as dragons, which are differentiated by species.
The feature will have an early screening at the SXSW festival and will be available in theaters on March 31, 2023. You can have a glimpse at the film in the trailer below.
