Glen Evelyn is directing a true-to-life feature film based on his own lived experiences and has announced Garret Clayton, best known for his work as Tanner from Disney’s Teen Beach Movie franchise, to play the role of Mike in this adaptation of Evelyn’s life titled Our Family Pride. Our Family Pride will star Chad Ridgely, William Mark McCullough, and Rachel Alig alongside Clayton. The movie tells the story of a family reconnecting and learning to accept their father after he comes out as gay later in life his wife and children, one being his son Mike. This movie will tell a heartfelt story of love and understanding.
Evelyn will also be acting as a producer in conjunction with GunnerMAX Productions. Producers playing supporting roles are Dominic Giannetti of Giannetti Films and co-star Ridgely of Full Auto Films.
In a quote shared with Deadline, Evelyn had this heartfelt message to share with audiences about his reasons for making the film, “I wrote this story to help LGBTQ+ people coming out late in life to tell their stories to help their friends and families better understand and accept them. While there is greater acceptance than ever of people loving who they want to, these stories still need to be told.”
