‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ to Premiere in Cannes

Following some uncertainty about whether or not Quentin Tarantino’s latest film would premiere at Cannes, it has now been confirmed that it will. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will premiere later this month at the Cannes Film Festival.

Since Tarantino’s ninth film is set for a late July release in theaters, there was speculation that the film would not be completed in time to be shown at the Festival. The rumours have dispersed with confirmation from the Festival that the movie will be added to the competition line up as well. This year’s Cannes Festival will mark twenty-five years since Tarantino’s classic and acclaimed film, Pulp Fiction, premiered at Cannes in 1994. Ever since then, the screenwriter and director has had a long-standing relationship with the film festival. His 2009 film, Inglourious Basterds, also premiered at the prominent festival.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is written and directed by Tarantino. It boasts an impressive all-star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning, Bruce Dern, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Lena Dunham, and more. Following its world premiere at Cannes, the film will have a nationwide release in US theaters on July 26th of this year.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
