Nominees For The 34th Annual GLAAD Media Awards Announced

GLAAD, known as the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, has announced the nominees for the 34th Annual GLAAD Media Awards this morning.

Rupaul’s Drag Race stars Salina EsTitties, and Sasha Colby had the opportunity to announce nominees in some GLAAD Media Awards categories in a GLAAD Drag Story Time video that recently debuted on GLAAD’s YouTube page.

This year, GLAAD announced 295 nominations in 33 categories, including two new categories:  Outstanding Podcasts and Outstanding Live TV Journalism – Segments or Specials. Also, the Outstanding Reality Programs category was split for the first time by having both reality competition and non-competition series nominated independently. The Outstanding Kids & Family Programming category was also divided, with separate nominations for animated and live-action programs. As for the Outstanding Film-Wide Release category, this is the first year where there are a total of 10 nominations in the category.
