Nick Reiner Pleads Not Guilty In The Murder Of Rob And Michelle

There is a new development in the deaths of Rob and Michelle Reiner. Their son, Nick Reiner, has pleaded “not guilty” in the death of his parents, after being held in court following his arrest hours after Rob and Michelle Reiner were found stabbed to death at their home on Dec. 14. Reiner spoke once in court, before being issued a follow-up court date on April 29. Currently, Nick Reiner is being held for two counts of murder, and if convicted, could possibly be sentenced to the death penalty.

Nick Reiner has previously been very open about his struggles with drug addiction. He’s previously told interviewers that he’d attended 18 rehab facilities between the ages of 15 and 18 years old. And on a previous appearance on Anna David’s recovery podcast, Nick Reiner spoke of a time when he threw a rock through a window to prove he needed medication. “I was insane”, Nick Reiner recalled during his podcast appearance. “And I said, ‘I’m insane.’ And they said, ‘No, you’re not.’ I was like, ‘Well, they’re not taking my word for it. I might as well demonstrate what crazy is.”

“Rob Reiner was one of the greatest filmmakers of his generation”, Kevin Hochman, the District Attorney of Los Angeles, said of Reiner’s death when Nick Reiner was charged with murder, while also calling his and Michelle Reiner’s deaths “shocking and tragic”. “We owe it to their memory to pursue justice and accountability for the lives that were taken.”
