After the success of Superman earlier this year, the Man of Steel is set to return to theaters in 2027 with Man Of Tomorrow. With the film coming soon, one of the lead actors is reflecting on what he got to do in the first film while looking forward to returning to the role.

Nicholas Hoult was responsible for playing the newest version of Superman’s arch nemesis, Lex Luthor. By the end of Superman, Lex was taken into custody after his plans to stop Superman were finally thwarted and he was caught red handed.

Hoult is one among three talents set to return for James Gunn’s Man Of Tomorrow. On top of his returning as Lex, David Corenswet will be back as Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan reprising her role as Lois Lane.

Even with a cameo in the new Peacemaker season, Hoult has been very upfront about being excited to come back as Lex for Man Of Tomorrow. He told GQ that going into Superman, he did his homework when it came to Luthor, who’s been a part of Superman’s story since 1940.

He said that he hasn’t yet read the script that Gunn wrote, he said that he feels “like there’s a lot more for me to explore and for us to explore” after playing the character in Superman.

While reporting on Hoult’s comments, Screenrant made note of the nature of how Man Of Tomorrow was confirmed to be happening. While just speculation, Hoult may be alluding to an unlikely alliance between Lex and Superman, as he, Gunn, and Corenswet all shared images of the two, with Lex in an armor suit, seemingly working together.
