Nia Long is back in the spotlight, as the Love Jones and Boyz N the Hood actress is slated to produce her first film entitled Fatal Affair through Netflix according to Deadline. While working behind the scenes, Long will also star in Fatal Affair alongside Omar Epps and Stephen Bishop. Peter Sullivan will serve as the film’s director and rely heavily on a script compiled by Rasheeda Garner.
Fatal Affair centers around a woman who attempts to fix her marriage after a sudden encounter with an old friend, only to discover that he is a dangerous liability and tortured individual. Long’s production team will consist of Brian Nolan, Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz with filming expected to commence this month in Los Angeles.
Long has recently made a shift to dramatic roles throughout the 2010s, as the actress most recently appeared in 47 Meters Down: Uncaged and played a supporting role in The Banker alongside a beefy cast including Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Mackie, and Nicholas Hoult. Long also appeared in Life In a Year featuring Cara Delevingne and Jaden Smith.
Epps and Long have shared a history together performing side-by-side in 1999 crime thriller In Too Deep, while Bishop anchored the ill-fated Bravo series Imposters.
