Welcome to Hell Fest.
The new trailer for Gregory Plotkin’s slasher flick Hell Fest will have you on the edge of your seat or maybe even on the floor.
The trailer opens with some bright and disorienting shots of what looks like the scariest haunted house attraction to ever exist. There are ghostly hands reaching from walls, black-robed and white-masked figures surrounding entire rooms, and young people running for their lives. From these first few seconds alone, we know we are in for a wild and terrifying ride.
The plot follows a college student named Natalie (Amy Forsyth) who goes to visit her childhood best friend, Brooke (Reign Edwards). Along with the company of Brooke’s roommate, Taylor (Bex Taylor-Klaus), and the girls’ boyfriends, the friends head to Hell Fest, a traveling haunted carnival that holds some dark secrets and a haunting past.
When the group arrives at Hell Fest, and after they sign a sketchy waiver, the truth that a girl was “gutted” and left dead in an attraction at the fest a few years back is revealed. Without letting this otherwise horrifying news ruin their night of screams and fun, the group continues on into the festival.
Little does the group know, though, that their night is going to be filled with a lot more than a few cheap thrills. After Natalie proves her fearlessness when a supposed worker attempts to spook her, we see that the play-slasher may be more real than she believed.
What follows is reminiscent of classics like Scream and Halloween. The group becomes pray to this killer, and each time the horror becomes more blatant, they begin to realize just how much danger they’re actually in.
Hell Fest is distributed by CBS Films and Lionsgate, and the film is set for release on September 28, 2018.
