J. C. Chandor’s (All Is Lost, Margin Call) highly anticipated new film, A Most Violent Year, has a new trailer. Similar to the first trailer, it introduces Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis) as Abel Morales, an immigrant businessman attempting to build up his business in crime-ridden New York in 1981, and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) as his wife Anna, who fiercely defends him against law enforcement. David Oyelowo (Jack Reacher) plays the police detective who is investigating the business for unlawful activity, while the trailer also shows Abel’s trucking company under attack by those who want to hijack the trucks. The trailer goes on to present the audience with the question of whether Abel’s success is due to something more sinister, and what, if any, role his wife may be playing behind the scenes. The film will premiere at the AFI Festival in Los Angeles this Friday and will be released to a wider audience on December 31st, 2014, qualifying it for Academy Award nominations.
