New Trailer For Zac Efron And John Cena Led Film ‘Ricky Stanicky’ Released

Prime Video’s new comedy Ricky Stanicky directed by Peter Farrelly and starring John Cena and Zac Efron now has a new trailer, which you can view below. The film will be available on the streaming service beginning March 7th.

Ricky Stanicky follows a group of three lifelong friends (including Efron’s character, Dean) who have created Ricky Stanicky, an imaginary friend that takes the blame for all of their childhood pranks gone awry. Into adulthood, Ricky Stanicky continues to serve as the group’s scapegoat, so much so that the group eventually hires Cena’s character, “Rock Hard” Rod to portray their imaginary friend upon being questioned by the group’s partners.

Along with Efron and Cena, the cast consists of the following actors: Lex Scott Davis, Jermaine Fowler, William H. Macy, Jeff Ross, Andrew Santino, and Anja Savcic. Farrelly directed the film based on a script he wrote along with Jeff Bushell, Mike Cerrone, James Lee Freeman, Brian Jarvis, and Pete Jones.

The film has had to go through a lengthy development process because Bushell’s original script for the project landed on the Black List over a decade ago in 2010. Previously, Ricky Stanicky had prominent actors attached as prospects for the titular role, such as Jim Carrey and James Franco.
