The second trailer for sci-fi dystopia thriller Captive State has just been released. The trailer reveals that the world has been invaded and occupied by an extraterrestrial force for ten years. The majority of the government have aligned themselves with the aliens as they are able to keep order and maintain peace within the country. But there are some who are choosing to fight back and try to take back the world and restore it to its former glory. The film will follow both sides of the ongoing war in their fight to maintain or take back control of the world.
The film features a stellar cast as John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane) plays the firm government head attempting to maintain order and Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Ben Daniels (Rogue One) and Jonathan Majors (Hostiles) all fighting to take back control. The cast will also feature Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring), Kevin Dunn (Veep) and most surprisingly Machine Gun Kelly.
The director Rupert Wyatt, who co-wrote the script with Erica Beeney, also directed the excellent Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, The Escapist and The Gambler. Co-writer Erica Beeney’s one other screenwriting credit is for the film, The Battle of Shaker Heights, which starred the legendary Shia LaBeouf.
Captive State is set to release in March 2019 and will hopefully bring an exciting and thrilling twist the sci-fi genre.
