Several original cast members were unable to return for varying reason. Several actors have passed away, including Thuy Trang, and Jason David Frank who died last November. Austin St. John was unable to return after being arrested for government pandemic loan fund. In addition, Amy Jo Johnson turned away appearing in the film due to the offer presented to her.
For the record I never said no…I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But other fun stuff is in-store! Looking forward to watching my friends kick ass! #PowerRangers30

The description on Netflix for the film reads: “After tragedy strikes, an unlikely young hero takes her rightful place among the Power Rangers to face off against the team’s oldest archnemesis. “
“In the film, set 30 years after the wise and powerful Zordon formed the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the team comes face to face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise, ‘Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger,’ Once & Always reminds viewers that you are always a part of the Ranger family.” (Via Deadline)
