New ‘Sicario’ Clip

Lionsgate has released a new clip for the upcoming cartel action thriller Sicario. A previously-released trailer began, “In Mexico, Sicario means hitman.” Canadian Denis Villeneuve (whose 2010 French-language Incendies received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film) directed from screenplay by actor Taylor Sheridan (TV’s Sons of Anarchy). The film premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival to good reviews for its performances and suspense, and will be seen at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) plays an idealistic FBI agent recruited to aid in the escalating war on drugs at the U.S.-Mexico border. Josh Brolin (Inherent Vice) plays an elite government task force officer who enlists Blunt. Benicio Del Toro (21 Grams) plays consultant with a questionable history. Jon Bernthal (Fury, The Wolf of Wall Street), Victor Garber (Self/less) and Jeffrey Donovan (Changeling) also co-star.

In the new clip, below, a team of armed FBI agents, led by an intensely-focused Blunt, raids a house and uncovers horrors within.

Sicario will be released in selected theaters on September 18, 2015, and will be in wide release on October 2, 2015.
