A new film directed by Martin Scorsese, starring Leonardo DiCaprio has been announced with its first teaser trailer that was released this past Thursday. Killers of the Flower Moon, according to a Tweet from DiCaprio himself, “will exclusively be in theaters from Paramount Movies and Apple Films this October.”
Killers of the Flower Moon is a story written by David Grann. Comicbook spoke with Grann about the film, and he said, “I was just really impressed by how they managed to bring these historical figures to life and capture the hidden truths about the story. Leo just seemed to be able to capture the nature of Ernest Burkhart, and the level of complicity of his character, and this evil system. What I was struck by from Scorsese to the actors was the level of commitment and how much research they did to understand the parts and understand the history.” Comicbook states that the original story written by Grann is actually a non-fiction book.

This film is not the first time that Scorsese and DiCaprio have worked together before. In fact, it is the fifth film they’ve worked on together. Their films, such as The Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed, and Gangs of New York have been nominated for several awards. Comicbook notes that this new film has been “long-awaited”, and “has had Scorsese and DiCaprio attached to it since 2017.”
The film will premiere in select theaters on October 6, 2023, before expanding on October 20, 2023, and then streaming globally on Apple TV+.
