New Scooby-Doo Animated Film Adds Will Forte, Gina Rodriguez, Tracy Moran, and More

The new Scooby-Doo animated film attaches some iconic voices to their famous characters and will be directed by Tony Cervone. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, stars Tracy Morgan (30 Rock), Will Forte (Last Man on Earth), and Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) have closed deals to voice-star in the untitled Warner Bros. project. The actors will be joined by veteran Scooby voice actor, Frank Welker. This will be the first time that the meddling teenagers will be featured on the big screen since their live-action appearance in 2004’s Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Rodriguez will voice the brainy crime-solver, Velma. Forte will play Shaggy, Scooby’s cowardly best friend. Welker will reprise his role as the world’s most famous Great Dane, Scooby-Doo. Morgan will not be part of the mystery gang but the extended Hanna-Barbera cannon. Instead of solving crimes, Morgan will voice lesser known character, Captain Caveman.

The untitled project follows an unconventional Scooby plot. The film sees the Mystery Inc. gang cross into the larger Hanna-Barbera cannon and join forces with fellow cartoons to try and save the world from Dick Dastardly’s despicable plans.  Here’s to hoping Cervone includes the Mystery Mobile in at least one wacky race.
