New Producers Announced For 92nd Oscars

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Friday it will gain two new producers for the 92nd annual ceremony. Lynette Howell Taylor and Stephanie Allain will produce the show, which is currently slated for Feb. 9, 2020.

While new to the Oscars, Taylor and Allain both have prior experience in The Hollywood industry. Taylor produced last year’s Oscar favorite, A Star Is Born, which earned a nomination for Best Picture while Allain, runner of company Homegrown Pictures, has produced films such as Hustle & Flow and Dear White People. This is their first involvement working with the Academy.

Producer Donna Gigliotti, who oversaw the execution of last year’s show, was unable to return due to new duties as Academy governor. Taylor and Allain expressed their excitement over the new opportunity in a joint statement to IndieWire, calling it “a dream” and “an honor.”

The ceremony will bring the two together in collaboration for the first time. It is unknown whether the 92nd Academy Awards will have a host, as last year’s show was host-less. Film academy president David Rubin says they’ll bring “dynamism and excitement” to the show, but it remains unclear whether the show will have a host, according to the Associated Press.

The 92nd annual Academy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC Feb. 9, 2020.
