The sequel to Disney’s Maleficent is on the horizon, marking yet another entry in the mix of live-action Disney remakes. With only a couple of months away, the marketing.for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, is expected to be more prevalent until the film’s release, as evident by a new poster released today showcasing its entire cast of characters
Mistress of Evil’s poster heavily resembles a typical Marvel movie poster, with the title character being placed front and center while the supporting cast surrounds them. We see Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) on the left hand corner with the castle on the lower right hand corner. Within Maleficent’s wings we also see the supporting cast looking a bit faded. This includes the returning Elle Fanning as Aurora and new cast members including Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Just from the poster alone, Mistress of Evil seems to be going for a darker tone than the average Disney remake. Considering its focus on Disney’s most iconic villain, it makes sense that the poster would have a dark edge to it. Not to mention its October release date is a fitting time to have the mistress of all evil return to the big screen in time for Halloween.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is set to release on October 18th, 2019.
