As the summer movie season kicks into full swing, other big blockbusters are preparing for their debut. Among these includes Jurassic World: Rebirth, with the new trailer promising plenty of new dinosaur content for fans to sink their teeth into.
Jurassic World: Rebirth, set five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, finds a research team on a newly discovered island, home to dinosaurs deemed too deadly for the first park.
While the first trailer gave fans an idea of what the story will be like for the film, the second trailer showed plenty of dinosaurs for those clamoring to see the 65 million year old creatures. Among these was the newly created dinosaur, the Distortus Rex. Director Gareth Edwards already discussed the inspiration that went into the design, but the trailer showed more of what the D-Rex will actually look like, rather than keeping it hidden in shadows.
Empire notes that the new trailer also shows fans a scene that was said to be pulled right out of the original Michael Crichton novel. Within the original story, the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex tries to devour several characters as they make their way down a river in an inflatable raft. The inclusion of an iconic scene from Crichton’s novel was confirmed around when the first trailer came out, but no word was given it would be this scene, but there was only speculation. This trailer, however, showed snippets of that scene, with the new T. Rex trying to pick off several characters caught unawares by the carnivore along the river.
Jurassic World: Rebirth stomps into theaters July 2nd.
