It: Chapter 2 is heading to theaters this Friday, serving as the upcoming sequel to 2017’s It, both of which were directed by Andy Muschietti. The film was accepted by fans and critics alike and also captured the title for the highest grossing horror film of all-time. Warner Bros. has no plans to pump the brakes on promoting its new film, revealing new posters today via ComicBookMovie.com of the Losers Club 27 years later.
The trailers reveal that the kids will still be involved via flashback, but make no mistake: this movie is about the consequences of that night when the Losers defeated Pennywise 27 years ago. James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain and Bill Hader are leading the cast as grownup versions of Bill Denbrough, Bev Marsh and Richie Tozier, amongst other members of the adult Losers. Bill Skarsgard is reprising his role as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, who seeks revenge on the kids who defeated him 27 years prior, returning to make his presence known once again in Derry.
With It grossing $700 million worldwide, Warner Bros is looking to cash in on the sequel and inevitable end of the famed Stephen King novel. It: Chapter 2 is expected to reel in a $110 million opening weekend, with some mixed reviews by critics. The near three hour long sequel is still expected to rise on top when it’s released.
It: Chapter 2’s cast also includes Isaiah Mustafa (Mike Hanlson), Jay Ryan (Ben Hanscom), James Ransone (Eddie Kapsbrak) and Andy Bean (Stanley Uris). The film comes out this Friday.
