Robert Eggers’ newest film, Nosferatu, has a release date just around the corner. With the debut drawing closer, more of the film is being shown off to fans, including some new still recently revealed.
Nosferatu is a new take on an old story, serving as a remake to F. W. Mernau’s 100-year-old classic, Nosferatu. The film sees the nefarious Count Orlok bring his intentions to a small town, tormenting its residents through his infatuation with one particular woman.
One new image already elicits the appearance of the original Nosferatu, and even some Universal classics such as Dracula, with a lone carriage on a winding road as it approaches Orlok’s manor. The image itself is bathed in shadows of black and blue.
Another image depicts a spacious area of a castle, with the same gothic style that the trailer has promised. It hasn’t been revealed what the location is in particular, one could infer it’s an area within Orlok’s own castle.
Collider has made note that this image in particular is akin to how the marketing has handled Count Orlok himself so far, refusing to show him physically and only alluding to him.
Collider also noted that the new images for Nosferatu come courtesy of Bloody Disgusting.
Nosferatu hits theaters December 25th.
