New Horrifying Trailer For ‘The Omen’ Prequel Film Arrives

A new trailer for The First Omen has just dropped, giving a deeper look at what’s to come in this prequel film to the original 1976 film. After almost fifty years, this entry in the franchise will cover the possible origins of Antichrist Damien.

The official synopsis of the film is as follows:

“When a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.”

The trailer shows an American woman, named Margaret, trying to look after a girl named Carlita, who is thought to be a girl that will eventually give birth to the son of the devil, according to a father of the church.

But while she does that, strange events continue to occur in the town of Rome she is in. From people getting killed in car accidents to other sisters of the church burning themselves alive, Margaret is faced with all of these issues while uncovering that conspiracy.

While it hasn’t 100% been confirmed, one of the main connections that may occur during this film will be that if Carlita were to give birth to evil, it would be Damien, the main evil child in the original film.

The First Omen will star Nell Tiger Free (Servant), Tawfeek Barhom (Mary Magdalene), Sonia Braga (Shotgun Wedding), Ralph Ineson (The Creator), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones and The Rabbit Hole) and Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest).

The film is set to scare theater audiences on April 5.
