Disney Animation is not ready to “let it go” just yet as they have now released an official trailer for their all new 21-minute holiday short, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, which will open theatrically in front of Disney/Pixar’s Coco, due out November 22nd.
Directed by Emmy-winning creators Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton (Prep & Landing), the short will welcome back the original cast of the 2013 animated blockbuster, including Olaf (Josh Gad), who is on a mission to harness the best holiday traditions for Princess Anna (Kristen Bell) and Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel). The special will also feature four new original songs by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson.
John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, expressed his excitement over the new special, “I’m thrilled that Disney Animation’s featurette Olaf’s Frozen Adventure will be coming to theaters in November with Pixar’s Coco. It’s a perfect pairing – they’re both beautiful, heartfelt films about families and how people carry traditions forward. I can’t wait for audiences to get to see both of these terrific projects together on the big screen.”
The upcoming short is said to serve as prologue to the upcoming Frozen sequel, which is slated for a November 2019 release and will reunite the original’s creative team of Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck, Peter Del Vecho, and songwriting super-team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
