The upcoming film Nosferatu has plans to release a new cologne in collaboration with Heretic Parfum. The cologne will be called Nosferatu and hold 30 ml of the fragrance. The price for a bottle of Nosferatu will be $125.
A description of the scent is as follows:
A scent as atmospheric as the film, the perfume transports the wearer into the dark spaces inhabited by Count Orlok himself. The Eau de Macabre opens with top notes of lilac and ambrette seed that fall into a heart chord of violet, orris root, and petrichor. The mysterious dry-down is woven around vegan ambergris and Oud absolute.
It might seem odd, at first, to base a cologne on a character whom the director of the film, Robert Eggers, has described as a “scary, smelly corpse,” but Heretic Parfum will likely be leaning more heavily into the mysterious atmosphere of the film, rather than recreating the actual scent of the Count.
According to Heretic, the cologne smells like “an encounter with an apparition in the cold, damp caves of Count Orlok’s castle.” Each bottle will be black and have a cap with Count Orlok’s sigil. The box will also contain information on the fragrance notes and inspiration.
