With the epic conclusion of Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon trilogy in sight, people cannot get enough trailers and clips to satisfy the need to know what the movie entails. From the look of things, it appears that audiences will not be disappointed. With the official trailer already released, a new clip publicized at New York Comic Con adds another dimension to the already highly anticipated finale.
In the clip, audiences see that Hiccup’s journey has come full circle. Standing on a mountain ridge overlooking Berk and the ocean as far as the eye can see, Stoick the Vast (Hiccup’s father) tells baby Hiccup that one day he will be the one to lead the people into a time when Vikings and dragons no longer fight. He is destined to bring peace. Knowing that the relationship between Stoick and Hiccup is a key motivator in both of the previous films, it is beautiful to see that relationship reflected once more in the end. The scene, although brief, is very touching and tells a lifetime of hopes from a father to his son in a matter of seconds.
Director Dean DeBlois is returning for the third time to complete his vision that has run for three films. Additionally, the entire voice cast including Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, and Kit Harrington are returning to reprise their respective roles in How to Train Your Dragon 3. Look for How to Train Your Dragon: the Hidden World in theaters February 22, 2019. Check out the clip and the trailer below.
