A new clip for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was dropped by Paramount showing off the character of Knuckles. The clip shows Knuckles fighting Sonic while the two snowboard down a mountain. The clip shows off Knuckles’ more serious nature in contrast to the more upbeat Sonic. Sonic quips “for a guy named Knuckles you are really bad at punching” at his adversary.

The film will star Ben Shwartz, known for his role as Jean-Ralphio in Parks And Recreation, as the voice of Sonic, Jim Carrey, known for The Truman Show and How The Grinch Stole Christmas, as Dr. Robotnik, Idris Elba, known for The Dark Tower and The Suicide Squad, as the voice of Knuckles. and James Marsden, known for his role as Teddy Flood in Westworld, as Sheriff Tom Michael Wachowski.

Polygon has reported on details regarding Knuckles’ role in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Knuckles will be a secondary antagonist in the film who teams up with Dr. Robotnik. The duo attempt to take control of the chaos emeralds in order to gain ultimate power. The chaos emeralds were important objects in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series and their presence in the sequel shows that the Sonic the Hedgehog film series will continue to fill out the Sonic world.
