For weeks now the rumor mill has been spreading the word about Neve Campbell potentially not playing a part in the 6th film in the Scream franchise. Now, the actress herself has officially declared her exit from the slasher sequel.
“Sadly I won’t be making the next Scream film. As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream,” the actress says about her starring role in the $700M-plus grossing global franchise, “I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise. It’s been a very difficult decision to move on. To all my Scream fans, I love you. You’ve always been so incredibly supportive to me. I’m forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years”
The latest Re-boot of the series came in like a house of fire in an rather slow year at the box office for Paramount. The film grossed $140M World Wide. As of now Neve Campbell is starring in the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer as well as an reoccurring role in the peacock series Twisted Metal alongside Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz.
