Netflix Releases Trailer for ‘Sand Castle’

Netflix has released the first trailer for their new film set during the beginning of the Second Gulf War, Sand Castle, set to be released on April 21st, 2017 on Netflix. The film has an all-star casts with names like Nicholas Hoult, Henry Cavill and Logan Marshall-Green.

This is the second feature film from Brazilian director Fernando Coimbra, who also worked with Netflix on the first season of the hit show Narcos. It’s produced by Justin Nappi of Treehouse Pictures and Ben Pugh of 42.

The film takes place in Iraq in 2003 and follows Private Matt Ocre (Hoult), a struggling solider who is willing to break his hand to get home. Instead he is handed a bandage and some generic painkillers before being sent back into the fight. The tagline for the film is “war divides us, war unites us, war changes us,” and the script by Chris Roessner seems set to prove that point. The story is made all the more realistic with Roessner’s own experiences in Iraq and brings to life the realities that American soldiers face in war zones.
