Netflix Acquires ‘The Hills Have Eyes For You,’ Horror Rom-Com Directed by Eli Craig (‘Tucker & Dale vs. Evil’)

Netflix has picked up David Stieve’s horror and romantic comedy spec script The Hills Have Eyes For You, with Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil) set to direct and Farah Films producing. Deadline first reported the news.

Dan Farah will produce the film with co-producer Stephanie Davis, and Andrew Farah will serve as Executive Producer. Farah described the film as “a fresh and fun love story set against the backdrop of an elevated horror comedy.”

This deal with Netflix is Stieve’s first studio spec sale. Previously, he co-wrote the 2007 horror comedy Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon.

Of the film, Craig said, “This is a unique underdog love story with genre bending scares and a lot of laughs. I think I’ll be in my element for this one.” His Tucker & Dale vs. Evil went on to become a cult success and he also directed Netflix’s dark comedy Little Evil. He is represented by UTA and Wet Dog Entertainment.

Stieve is repped by Farah Films & Management and attorney Mark Muir at Greenberg Glusker. Muir also represents Farah Films.
