Director Adam McKay’s (Don’t Look Up, the Big Short) upcoming film Average Height, Average Build was acquired by Netflix. The feature has a big list of stars on the cast, including Robert Pattinson, Amy Adams, Robert Downey Jr., Forest Whitaker, and Danielle Deadwyler. McKay wrote the script and will be seated on the Director’s Chair.
The director worked before with Netflix for Don’t Look Up, which was a big success on the streaming platform and reached No.1 in several countries after its release. The film also starred several well known actors such as Leonardo Di Caprio, Jennifer Lawrence, and Timotheè Chalamet. McKay won the Best Original Screenplay Award from the WGA for this film.
Average Height, Avergae Build will follow a serial killer played by Pattinson who looks for help from a lobbyist to alter laws, hoping to find a way to easily get away with murder. Downey Jr. plays a retired cop who is after Pattinson.
The film is priamrily a comedy, but touches upon serious themes, as McKay’s work tends to find entertaining and unconventional ways to tell stories that reflect on contemporary issues. Average Height, Average Built makes notes on the corruption in politics.
The film went on the market right after the Oscars and after the success of Don’t look Up, McKay decided to work with Netflix again. There is no official updates on possible dates of production or release yet.
