Neon Acquires Natalie Portman-Starrer ‘Vox Lux’

Neon has acquired Vox Lux, the pop music drama starring Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman (Annihilation), Deadline reports. Original songs for the film were written by Sia. The movie garnered several rave reviews at its TIFF premiere on September 7.

Brady Corbet wrote and directed the film, which also stars Jude Law (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), Raffey Cassidy (The Killing of a Sacred Deer), Christopher Abbot (First Man), and Jennifer Ehle (Fifty Shades Freed).

The story centers on a singer (Portman), herself a survivor of a school shooting, who rises to pop stardom after writing and performing a tribute song to the victims. The film spans the years 1999 to 2017. Producers are Bold Films’ Michel Litvak, Gary Michael Walters, David Litvak and Svetlana Metkina, ALP’s Andrew Lauren and D.J. Gugenheim, Killer Films’ Christine Vachon, Three Six Zero Entertainment’s David Hinojosa and Brian Young, and Robert Salerno. Portman, Law, and Sia are executive producers.
