Ncuti Gatwa has been confirmed to join Cynthia Erivo in Warner Bros. upcoming animated musical Bad Fairies.
The details of Gatwa’s character have not yet been revealed, but Erivo’s character, Jayne Staplegun, is described as “a trailblazing fairy whose defiant streak sparks a rebellion.” The feature follows a rebellious group of fairies as they “shake up” the magical universe they inhabit. The musical is co-directed by Megan Nico Dong and Olivier Staphylas, based on a script by Deborah Frances-White. Six: The Musical’s songwriting duo, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, are confirmed to be writing the songs, while Isabella Summers of Florence + The Machine will be composing the score. KPop Demon Hunters’ Ian Eisendrath will be credited as the executive music producer.
The feature is currently in production in London and is scheduled for release in theaters on May 21, 2027.
