Naomi Watts (While We’re Young) is in the final stages of signing on for Colin Trevorrow‘s (Jurassic World) Book of Henry. The film is an original screenplay from best-selling author Gregg Hurwitz, better known for his work as a novelist (Tell No Lies, Don’t Look Back). Hurwitz had a brief stint in television as a producer and writer on the short-lived series V, a remake of the popular 80s series of the same name.
The plot details of Book of Henry are being kept under wraps, but Trevorrow is said to be very passionate about the material, praising the screenplay back in March:
‘Book of Henry’ is a remarkable piece of screenwriting that has stuck with me for years. I feel very fortunate to be able to tell this story. It is a true original.”
Although Watts is not yet officially attached to the project, it is expected that confirmation should be coming shortly, being that Colin Trevorrow is slated to begin shooting Book of Henry next month in New York.
Watts has been one of the busier actresses in Hollywood recently, having starred in two films – Best Picture-winning Birdman and St. Vincent – last year and looking to appear in possibly up to four more this year, with Insurgent and While We’re Young already seeing releases stateside, and The Sea of Trees and About Ray still set to be released.
Trevorrow, on the other hand, just recently nabbed the latest Star Wars directorial gig, with the announcement that he would helm Star Wars Episode IX after he found mega-success with Jurassic World.
