My Spy: The Eternal City, which is nearing production this month, has added Anna Faris, Craig Robinson, and Flula Borg to the franchise. Billy Barratt, Teho K, Nicola Correia Damned, Noah Dalton Danby, and Devia Rogers will also appear. Recurring stars include Bautista as CIA Agent JJ, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal, and Ken Jeong, with Pete Segal will directing.
The film follows an adolescent, Sophie (Coleman), hired by JJ to accompany her school choir on tour to Italy, where they become embroiled in an international terrorist attack.
The new part of Good Fear Content was produced by Chris Bender and Jake Weiner. Bautista and Jonathan Meisner will also produce through Dogbone Entertainment, while Segal, Robert Simmons, and Gigi Pritzker will produce through Madison Wells. The film is based on Segal’s story, written by John and Eric Hoeber and revised by Segel.
The Hollywood Reporter writes how the producers feel about adding Faris to the cast and with the cast returning. “We were so delighted with the success of My Spy. It is an absolute privilege to reunite with Pete Segal, Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, and the rest of the talented cast and filmmakers–along with some very exciting additions,” said Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon and MGM Studios. Segal added, “Having Anna, Craig, and Flula join our amazing cast is like a kiss from the comedy Gods.”
Dave Bautista returns to the spy business in the sequel to the 2020 action-comedy My Spy, which will be streaming on Amazon.
