‘Mortal Kombat 2’ Footage Teased At CinemaCon

The first footage for the new Mortal Kombat 2 film has been teased. Richard Brenner, the chief at New Line, unveiled this reveal at CinemaCon, which was held this year at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace.

The clips shown teased a few of the popular characters that will be seen in the film, known from their places in the popular video game franchise of the same name. Among these characters is Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban.

In the footage, we see Cage introduce himself with tons of confidence, saying “I am Johnny fucking Cage. It’s showtime” The line surely generates a lot of excitement for fans, since it provides a closer look at this interpretation of the character and his personality.

Mortal Kombat 2, the follow-up to the four-year-old film Mortal Kombat, is based on the popular video game franchise Mortal Kombat from the 1990s. A fighting game, known for its brutal nature, which features many fatalities.

This new feature is being produced by James Wan. Audiences can plan to see Mortal Kombat 2 in theaters on October 24th, and, as Brenner says, “Expect amazing fights, epic battles and a few fatalities.”
