After the success of the Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson buddy comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard, a sequel seemed to have been destined at some point or another. Now that a sequel is officially coming, one other big star will be joining Reynolds and Jackson’s comedic sequel. Oscar-winning iconic actor Morgan Freeman is set to join the sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
The sequel will take place along the Amalfi Coast as Michael Bryce(Reynolds) and Darius Kincaid(Jackson) are on a new mission. No other major plot details has been announced as of yet nor has Morgan Freeman’s role been specified. Though considering the thought of bringing a high profile actor like Freeman in the mix of this action comedy, it’ll be assured that he will probably have a decent sized role in this sequel.
Director Patrick Hughes is returning to the helm once again to adapt a screenplay by Tom O’Conner. The original main cast also including Salma Hayek will be reprising their roles.
The release date for The Hitman’s Bodyguard 2 is still to be determined but production is planned to begin this month.
