More Sign On For ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

As shooting is set to commence shortly, casting announcements for Spider-Man: Homecoming are coming in left and right. The other day it was announced that Donald Glover (The Martian) appeared nearly set for an unconfirmed role in director Jon Watts‘ upcoming revamp of the webslinging franchise and now it appears that two more names may join the film. Tom Holland, who debuted his Spider-Man/Peter Parker in the current smash Captain America: Civil War leads.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) is in talks to portray villain in Homecoming joining Michael Keaton in the dark side for this latest iteration while Deadline asserts that comedy veteran Martin Starr (Silicon Valley) has joined the film in an unspecified role. It’s widely believed, though hasn’t been confirmed by either Marvel nor Sony, that Keaton will portray main villain The Vulture however the extents of Marshall-Green’s baddie haven’t been established.

The cast appears nearly fleshed out with Marisa Tomei on board as Aunt May and Robert Downey Jr. attached to appear as Iron Man/Tony Stark. The younger skewing reboot will also feature Zendaya, Michael Barbieri (Little Men), Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Laura Harrier (One Life to Live).

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to open in theaters on July 7.2017.
