During the Disney Investor meeting of 2020, Pixar had made many announcements regarding some of their upcoming projects in the 2020s. Particularly, they discussed their next feature film coming out after Soul known. Pixar revealed some more details regarding their upcoming feature film, Luca.
The film will be centered on two young boys named Luca and Alberto having an unforgettable summer in Italy. The film will be directed by the director of the Pixar short attached to Brave, La Luna, Enrico Casarosa. Not much else has been revealed of the film to public outside of some footage briefly showcasing the look of the film, however a trailer has been shown to investors for the project. From what was shown, the film looks very stylistic in terms of its animation with a very cartoony look for its characters while also having some beautiful backgrounds in the mix too.
While not much has been revealed for the film, though it still shows a ton of promise with it being another original Pixar film from the studio. As promised throughout this decade that they will be focused on more original content when it comes to their films, and with a focus on very creative driven projects, audiences will expect Pixar to bring them to another magical world with a new story and some innovative animation. Hopefully we will receive a new trailer for the film closer to when Soul comes out later at the end of this month.
Luca is set for June 18th 2021.
