“This is the story of a lifetime,” the tagline reads for Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight and it quite literally is.
Moonlight is a coming of age story spanned across a three-part narrative exploring one man’s childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Set in Miami’s drug infested inner city, the main character Chiron struggles with love and his own sexuality in this drama.
From A24 and Brad Pitt’s Plan B entertainment, Moonlight is adapted and directed by Barry Jenkins, based on the play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue, written by Tarell McCraney.
The talent in Moonlight includes Naomie Harris (28 Days Later), Andre Holland (42), Trevante Rhodes, Alex R. Hibbert, Jaden Piner, Ashton Sanders, and Jharrel Jerome. Music star Janelle Monae will make her big-screen debut.
Moonlight will be in theaters October 21st, check out the trailer below.
