Mike Flanagan’s ‘The Life Of Chuck’ Gets May 2025 Release Date From Neon

A new film from acclaimed director Mike Flanagan has finally given an official release date. His new feature, The Life Of Chuck, has secured a debut date of May 30th, 2025, marking the start of its theatrical release circuit.

The Life Of Chuck is based on a novella from acclaimed author Stephen King. It was originally published with a collection of other novellas in 2020 called If It Bleeds.

The Life Of Chuck follows the events of a man’s life but in reverse. The story begins with his death and progresses backward as it unfolds, depicting all the events he endured. Tom Hiddleston headlines the film, with Jacob Tremblay, Benjamin Pajak, and Cody Flanagan portraying the progressively younger versions of the character.

The rest of the supporting cast is rounded out by Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Matthew Lillard, Mia Sara, Kate Siegel, and many others.

ScreenRant, who also noted that Neon themselves confirmed the new release date, noted that this isn’t the first time Flanagan has done a King adaptation. One of Flanagan’s most noteworthy films in his filmography was his screen adaptation of Doctor Sleep, which, just as the novel did, served as the continuation of The Shining. Similarly, he also handled 2017’s Gerald’s Game.
