Deadline reports that A24 released the first trailer for Everything Everywhere All At Once, the latest film from Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. It’s set for release in the spring on March 25, 2022.
The sci-fi adventure from the writer-director duo known as Daniels is the story of Mrs. Wang (Michelle Yeoh), an exhausted Chinese American woman who can’t seem to finish her taxes.
The trailer reveals Wang sitting down with an auditor character portrayed by Jamie Lee Curtis, who expresses concern about Wang’s financial situation. Curtis says, “Now, you may only see a pile of receipts, but I see a story. I can see where this story is going. It does not look good.”
Just after that moment, the film blows past into a more fantastical world, thrusting Wang into a multiverse. She realizes that there are thousands of versions of her spread across it and she can access the memories, emotions, and skills of each.
Ke Huy Quan’s character warns her, “There’s a great evil spreading throughout the many [universes] and you may be our only chance of stopping it.”
Everything Everywhere All At Once is selected to open the 29th SXSW Film Festival on March 11. The cast includes Stephanie Hsu, James Hong, Jenny Slate, and Harry Shum Jr.
