Michael Giacchino, the Oscar-winning composer behind Up, Ratatouille, and more, has provided a promising update on his work on the upcoming The Batman Part II. Having previously composed the previous movie, 2022’s The Batman, the composer highlighted his work on the film in a recent interview with ScreenRant. In the following comment, the filmmaker discussed his work on The Batman Part II, saying:
“I don’t think there’s a world where Matt Reeves would allow me not to be involved. He and I are such good friends, and I love working with Matt more than anybody; he’s the greatest. We still have a little bit of time for that. Good things come to those who wait.”
Giacchino’s comment highlights his longstanding collaboration with The Batman director Matt Reeves, having previously composed music for Reeves’s previous films such as Cloverfield and Let Me In.
His comment also comes as The Batman Part II had a pretty decent delay. The film was recently pushed back to a release date of Febuary 15, 2028, moving back from its original release date in October of 2027. Despite this delay, production is still scheduled to proceed near the end of this year and throughout 2027. This delay also gives the creative team, such as Giacchino, time to prepare work on the film.
