Michael B. Jordan will be playing the twins Smoky and Stack in the upcoming horror picture, Sinners. The movie is set during the Jim Crowe era of the 1930s in the deep south, as the brothers played by Jordan leave their criminal life behind to return to their home town only to encounter vampires as unwanted guests. Jordan talked about the hardest part of playing twins to The Hollywood Reporter by saying,
“(It) was the technicality of how we shot both characters. I did every scene like four times, five times, so I think the balance between going back and forth was difficult at time but you find a rhythm and after a while it was second nature. I had a lot of fun.”
Jordan has highlighted The Lost Boys and The Vampire in Brooklyn as his favorite films of the vampire genre. Jordan will also be co starring along with actors, Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’ Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, and Delroy Lindo. Lindo has recently commented on Sinners musical blues elements by stating,
“It’s central to the foundation of the narrative, it’s central to the history of this culture, and central to the history of this country.”
Sinners will open for theatrical release on April 18, 2025 and is directed, written, and produced by Ryan Coogler.
