An extra has sued Mia Goth for allegedly kicking him in the head during the shooting of A24’s upcoming film MaXXXine. The complaint says that Goth “was warned to be careful regarding how she stepped, but in the next take, she “intentionally kicked Plaintiff in his head with her boot.”

The Ti West-directed horror will be the third installation of the X trilogy, following X (2022) and Pearl (2022). The incident took place when the background actor, James Hunter, had to lay on the ground as a “Dead Parishioner,” and Goth was to step over him. According to Deadline, the suit claims Goth nearly stepped on Hunter during one take, leading Hunter to complain about this to the second assistant director, John Hall.

After the scene, Hunter was allegedly mocked by Goth about the situation, daring him to do something about it.

Hunter also complained about the fake blood drying to his skin, causing him “severe pain” when he removed his bathrobe “without assistance.”

On the drive home, Hunter claimed to have felt lightheaded and had to pull over twice for fear of passing out behind the wheel. The following morning, Hunter was told via email and phone by Jeff Olan casting that “Whatever happened, production does not want you back.” According to the court papers, Hunter was banned from the set. Hunter claimed that he continued to feel head trauma symptoms.

The lawsuit accuses Goth of assault, including a claim against A24 for acting with a “conscious disregard” for Hunter’s well-being.
